Contrary to the popular belief systems, the roots of Christianity can be traced long before 2000 years. Initially, the religion consisted exclusively on members who had Jewish origins. During the initial few decades, the Roman Empire tried their best to eradicate Christianity; however, the faith displayed by the Jewish helped the religion to gain widespread popularity. Plenty of people martyred for the sake of their religion and it only helped in reinforcing the belief systems among the Jews. The Christian movement kick started with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at about 33 AD. This movement continued until 130 AD and it culminated with the Apostolic Age. The twelve disciples of Jesus Christ played an important role in spreading the good news.
